Patchwork Bag

Soon, the beauty of patchwork began to amaze me. (My mama was sewing a quilt using old cloth that people don't want, and I saw the quilt that my grand-aunt's sewed. They were beautiful.) And I think it's so lovely to be able to painstaking (not really because I was having fun doing it) sew together a lot of fabrics that you have put together before assembly into a piece of cloth that's really for sewing.

And as I walked through the different shops over at Chinatown (my favorite place when I hunt for new fabrics or need some fabric therapy terribly), I saw this shop that sells really beautiful cloth that have Japanese inspired prints on it. There's 2 shops selling it (yes, I've done my research). Even though it's more expensive than most of the cloth you find at Chinatown (it's $13 per yard), I still found myself browsing through that collection.

I ended up with these. *I love autumn feeling you see*

I remembered that my mama and I had a little 'fight' as to how should I arrange them.

Tadang! Made a little bag for my dear Xing Ying as a birthday gift. I did not want to give it away actually. But I thought, the feeling of the cloth reminded me of her. So, I HAVE TO DO IT! But anyway, babe, if you don't want it, remember, you can just return them back to me! Haha. I'm more than happy to use it.

And oh, this was the first bag that I started stuffing quilt batting between the cloth so that the bag will feel a little fluffy. =D I love the effect of the fluffiness. Hahaha. I can probably hug it to sleep on the train (ok, it's not that thick acutally). LOL!
